Welcome

Today I have connected up to the Adelaide Index And The Australian Index. Enjoy this blog.

CountDown07 Part 3

60 MISSY HIGGINS-STEER
Not as good as "Scar" "The Special Two" etc.
59 ROB THOMAS-LITTLE WONDERS
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
58 THE FOO FIGHTERS-THE PRETENDER
Fails in comparison to other material.
57 CAMILLE JONES VS. FEDDE LE GRAND-THE CREEPS
Surprise hit, but there is better dance material out there.
56 POWDERFINGER-LOST AND RUNNING
See 58.
55 TIMBALAND FEATURING NELLY FURTADO & JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE-GIVE IT TO ME
Just O.K.
54 SHANNON NOLL & NATALIE BASSINGTHWAITE-DON'T GIVE UP
For a good cause (depression cause) but fails up against the 1987 Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush
version.
53 SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM-PICTURES
Good song from the biggest local breakout group in 2007.
52 FERGIE-CLUMSY
She tries, but dear you are nearly 30.
51 BEYONCE FEATURING SHAKIRA-BEAUTIFUL LIAR
Neither good nor bad. Neither offensive or innofensive.
50 NELLY FURTADO-ALL GOOD THINGS (COME TO AN END)
The two Nelly Furtado songs she brought out in 2006 were so good the ones, 55 and this,
sounded disappointing in comparison.
49 TV ROCK VS. THE DUKES OF WINDSOR-THE OTHERS
See 55.
48 ALICIA KEYS-NO ONE
As above.
47 50 CENT FEATURING JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE-AYO TECHNOLOGY
Average Fitty rap but you will nearly faint when you realise what Justin Timberlake is
singing as the hook.
46 BRITNEY SPEARS-GIMME MORE
It's mean to say this but like Britney herself, a metaphorical car accident.
45 MAROON 5-MAKES ME WONDER
Compared to the SONGS ABOUT JANE singles, a rank disappointment.
44 RIHANNA-SHUT UP AND DRIVE
A mix of sexiness and hooks. And aren't we all still trying to figure what the double
entendre in this and UMBRELLA is!
43 AKON FEATURING SNOOP DOGG-I WANNA LOVE YOU
Average.
42 BEYONCE-IRREPLACEABLE
Same as BEAUTIFUL LIAR.
41 PINK-DEAR MR. PRESIDENT
Shame to say I like this song, but I also hate Bush. Maybe that works into that.
40 KELLY CLARKSON-NEVER AGAIN
Guilty pleasure ahoy.
39 LINKIN PARK-WHAT I'VE DONE
Meh.
38 FERGIE-FERGALICIOUS
A right mess.
37 GOOD CHARLOTTE-KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY GIRL
Trying too hard to be The Killers.
36 EVERMORE-LIGHT SURROUNDING YOU
Overexposed a bit, and that can put you off the song.
35 PINK-LEAVE ME ALONE (I'M LONELY)
Another good Pink song. Whouda thunk it.
34 AKON FEATURING EMINEM-SMACK THAT
Craptacula.
33 AVRIL LAVIGNE-WHEN YOU'RE GONE
O.K., but not great.
32 FEDDE LE GRAND-PUT YOUR HANDS UP FOR DETROIT
As above.
31 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE-WHAT GOES AROUND...COMES AROUND
Relatively good, but something I could not become obsessed with.
30 K.T. TUNSTALL-SUDDENLY I SEE
We have to thank Betty Suvarez for the success of this excellent sleeper hit.
29 SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM-U.F.O.
Everybody. "I saw a U.F.O. and nobody believes me."
28 RICKI-LEE-CAN'T TOUCH IT
Yes, it's a rip-off of HIT ME UP. Admit it, you like it.
27 SANTANA FEATURING CHAD KROEGER-INTO THE NIGHT
Meh.
26 BOB SINCLAR-ROCK THIS PARTY (EVERYBODY DANCE NOW)
As above.
25 NELLY FURTADO-SAY IT RIGHT
In 2006 and 2007, Nelly Furtado & Timbaland had a great track record.
24 MATCHBOX TWENTY-HOW FAR WE'VE COME
This is one of the good summer hits of 2007-2008.
23 MIKA-LOVE TODAY
Nothing on GRACE KELLY and HAPPY ENDING.
22 THE VERONICAS-HOOK ME UP
One of the better Australian Made pop songs of recent years.
21 PLAIN WHITE T'S-HEY THERE DELILAH
Gulity pleasure ahoy 2.
20 THIRSTY MERC-20 GOOD REASONS
A letdown by a group that is so much better.
19 KANYE WEST-STRONGER
Did anybody else who brought GRAD1UATION notice how sample-heavy it was.
18 THE FRAY-HOW TO SAVE A LIFE
Like 30, another Channel 7-promoted hit.
17 ALEX GAUDINO FEATURING CRYSTAL WATERS-DESTINATION CALABRIA
My mind's not made up yet about this song.
16 FALL OUT BOY-THNKS FR TH MMRS
2 out of 2 great songs for this band. Known in Australia as the A.F.L. song.
15 DELTA GOODREM-IN THIS LIFE
It's a song that is half good and half bad. Sums up Delta's music career.
14 FALL OUT BOY-THIS AIN'T A SCENE, IT'S AN ARMS RACE
3 out of 3 great songs for Fall Out Boy.
13 FERGIE FEATURING LUDACRIS-GLAMOROUS
Meh.
12 GOOD CHARLOTTE-DANCE FLOOR ANTHEM
As above.
11 TIMBALAND FEATURING KERI HILSON-THE WAY I ARE
As above.
10 SEAN KINGSTON-BEAUTIFUL GIRLS
Another G.P.A.
9 GWEN STEFANI FEATURING AKON-THE SWEET ESCAPE
I admit. I'm a fan more of her old No Doubt stuff and putting an average artist like Akon on
here doesn't help the song.
8 CHRISTINA AGUILERA-CANDYMAN
Meh. A World War II song wouldn't include the lyrics "Make my panties drop"!
7 MIKA-GRACE KELLY
One of my songs of 2007. A great glam-rock throwback.
6 TIMBALAND FEATURING ONEREPUBLIC-APOLOGIZE
A song that has been No.1 down under for ages. Timbaland's beats actually ruin this song.
5 HINDER-LIPS OF AN ANGEL
Craptacula. Spent nearly two months at No. 1. Very average.
4 SILVERCHAIR-STRAIGHT LINES
Probably the Aussie song of 2007. Still on the Top 40 after nine months.
3 RIHANNA FEATURING JAY-Z-UMBRELLA
Even a supposed double entendre doesn't save this song.
2 AVRIL LAVIGNE-GIRLFRIEND
Pretty much the worst song of 2007. Isn't she getting too old for this. Then again, look at
Gwen & Fergie.
AND NO.1
1. FERGIE-BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY
Another meh.

REVIEW
Some good songs, but mostly average stuff. But anyway it is 14-15 year old girls buying this stuff, not me.

CountDown07 Part 2 80-61 (Continuted)

Sorry. I went away for a while.

67 KISSCHASY-OPINIONS WON'T KEEP YOU WARM AT NIGHT
A rare occurance for an Australian Rock band to hit the Top 10 but a pretty average song.
66 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE-SEXYBACK
Another great song, but again 2006.
65 MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE-TEENAGERS
Admit it, you love this song.
64 THE SCISSOR SISTERS-I DON'T FEEL LIKE DANCIN'
Another great song, but another 2006 release.
63 THE POTBELLEEZ-DON'T HOLD BACK
Very rare for an Australian dance group to hit the Top 10, but see 67.
62 AKON-DON'T MATTER
Craptacular but catchy (That doesn't mean it's good.)
61 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE FEATURING T.I.-MY LOVE
Not J.T.'s best but not his worst.

CountDown07 Part 2

Now continuing the analysis of the A.R.I.A. End Of Year Singles Charts 2007

80 DAUGHTRY-IT'S NOT OVER
Nu-Metal is so 2001.
79 GWEN STEFANI-4 IN THE MORNING
Not spectacular. Not awful.
78 THE VERONICAS-UNTOUCHED
Meh.
77 WOLFMOTHER-JOKER & THE THIEF
Good, but another 2006 release.
76 JAMES BLUNT-1973
Worst song on an not unbad album.
75 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE-LOVESTONED
See 79.
74 HINDER-BETTER THAN ME
Terrible.
73 OPERATOR PLEASE-JUST A SONG ABOUT PING PONG
This song will probably pigeonhole this group as a teeny novelty group. Shame, really.
72 GYM CLASS HEROES-CUPID'S CHOKEHOLD
See 74.
71 NATALIE GAUCI-HERE I AM
Typical Idol ballad. No surprised it bombed.
70 GIA FARRELL-HIT ME UP
2006 Release. Not up to the standard of the others.
69 MIKA-HAPPY ENDING
Great Song. Admit you all like it.
68 THE ROGUE TRADERS-DON'T YOU WANNA FEEL
Poor copy of songs on the first album.

A Sad First For Everything

It's official.
Sport Journalist Clinton Grybas has died whilst sleep walking.

Very sad but...

Would he be the first famous person to die this way?

Squeaker

Who was the guy who lived with the Chipmunks?

ADELAIDE ADS: WHEN BUSINESS PEOPLE DECIDE TO APPEAR IN THEIR OWN ADS PART 1

QUESTION:

Have you all noticed that the high-pitched guy with the mo decides not to appear in the KIDZ-BEDZ DREAMLAND ads. It's one thing to rip off Dale Kerrigan, but he decides not to risk having the A.F.P. on his back.

(I.e. I'm not applying he's a you-know-what, i'm just making an observation.)
